Podiatry and Footcare
At the Northwich Foot Clinic, we deal with all types of foot problems, from simple nail cutting to in-depth biomechanical assessments, the latest microwave verruca treatments & minor surgery. Corn & hard skin removal, fungal nails, ingrowing toenails & verrucae are just some of the conditions we commonly deal with. But whatever your foot problem, we can help.
If you need help or advice on diabetic foot care, or have arthritis, we can carry out checks on your circulation, sensations & check the joint mobility. Sometimes we can prescribe specialist insoles to relieve pain from these conditions.
Ingrowing toenails can usually be dealt with simply, although you may require a small operation to reshape or remove the nail, which we can carry out at the clinic.
Podiatry/Chiropody Treatment
Any foot problems such as simple nail care, corns, callous, verrucae, painful ingrowing toenails, fungal infections etc. can be treated at our clinic, with additional advice given for your ongoing foot health care. Long term health problems such as arthritis or diabetes can cause many foot problems, and we are able to provide services to help you with these. Our standard appointments take 20 minutes following your initial 30 minute assessment appointment, but if your feet need that bit of extra attention, we can arrange a longer appointment with your clinician.
Initial appointments for all foot problems including routine foot-care allow us time to fully assess you and complete a full medical history. This means that we can treat you safely on the day and recommend the most appropriate type of appointment for future visits.
Biomechanical Assessment
This is an examination of the alignment of the bones within the foot and leg to identify any structural problems. We use podosmart digital gait analysis to identify mechanical problems during motion, which helps us to understand the cause of your pain. This may need correction with specialist insoles called orthotics which will be prescribed by your podiatrist. An MSK assessment or a course of shockwave therapy may also be recommended by the podiatrist during this appointment.
Nail Surgery
Surgery to correct ingrowing toenails or totally remove damaged / diseased nails is available at Northwich Foot Clinic. Our nail surgery package includes the minor surgery procedure under local anaesthetic, a free follow up check and all the dressings needed for the procedure and while it is healing. As with all procedures under anaesthetic on the foot, you will not be able to drive following the appointment for approximately 4-6 hours.
Toenail Reconstruction
LCN Wilde-Pedique is a highly effective toenail correction system, comprising an extremely elastic UV nail gel that adapts to the movements of the toe. Its unique adhesive properties mean that good results can be achieved, even on thick layers of skin where a toenail may be missing or on scaly nail surfaces. It can conceal ridges and deformations and hide discolouration. Depending on the texture of the nail it is covering, the reconstructed nail can last for many weeks. The replacement nail can be left natural or can be overpainted with any nail polish. Nail varnish remover will not damage it.
Verruca Treatments
We offer a range of treatments aimed at neutralising the virus that causes verrucas. Stimulating the body’s immune systems so it naturally fights off the verruca virus is the most effective means of combating verrucas. We no longer offer acid or cryo-therapy, as this is a dated treatment and there are more modern and successful treatments. We can effectively banish your verrucas using Swift Microwave Therapy, Verruca Needling, or Low-Level Laser Therapy.

What Our Patients Think
I have been treated by Claire today for the removal of an ingrown toenail. The level of care and professionalism was excellent. The procedure was very well explained and consent for the procedure was gained both verbally and in writing. The levels of hygiene were immaculate, both in the clinician and in the clinic. Keep up these levels of exceptional care. This is the best foot clinic I have ever used.

What an AMAZING place! Tom is brilliant at what he does and puts you so at ease! Knew this place was here but never been. Did not realise how many other practices they carry out! Smells lovely inside, has a really nice feel to the place and wouldn’t hesitate to go back now I have experienced today. Fab! Check it out 🙂
TRACY COPPOCK
The NHS podiatry service being a complete disaster in this area I decided the only option was to seek private care. Thank you Northwich Foot Clinic for offering a comprehensive foot care service. From entering the building reception to leaving the treatment room I was dealt with safely and very professionally. Thank you for your attention to detail.
