Experienced physiotherapy and musculo-skeletal rehabilitation programmes for a wide range of issues.

Physiotherapy

While physiotherapy is often associated with sports and athletes who need help recovering from injuries, it’s actually an excellent form of treatment for many common injuries, aches, pains and conditions. If you struggle with joint injuries and arthritis, physiotherapy can effectively ease your pain and improve your range of motion. Muscle pain can be soothed and prevented through physiotherapy, while mobility issues can be effectively treated and your mobility improved. Physio is also an effective treatment for respiratory issues, like cystic fibrosis.

Worn joints and muscles are a common complaint of many fitness enthusiasts and professional athletes. If untreated, problem areas can become recurring injuries and issues. Yet pain in the joints and muscles is not limited to those participating in regular sports activities or exercise. Around 80% of the UK suffer from back pain at some point in their lives, and this is just one example of common pain we live with daily. A physiotherapist can effectively treat troublesome areas while recommending ongoing exercises and providing massages.

Human anatomy consists of thousands of little networks connecting muscle with tissue, tissue with tendons, like one great big machine. Any machine requires regular maintenance, care, or moving parts will grow stiff, rusty, and worn over time. Physiotherapy is essentially your body’s answer to a service. Over time you lose the movement and flexibility in your joints. Physiotherapy can boost your flexibility, help you regain lost mobility, and identify problematic areas that need further attention. Physio is an effective means of both restoring your flexibility and mobility and preventing further loss of function. Your physiotherapist will also help you develop a routine to strengthen your body and help improve your overall health and wellbeing.

If you’ve suffered an accident or injury that has physically affected your body, or you’ve had a recent surgery, physiotherapy is an effective form of rehabilitation that will help you manage your pain and speed up your recovery. While the body will heal on its own, physiotherapists are able to target specific areas that typically need more time to heal, and can leave you with long-lasting issues. While bones usually heal themselves, muscles that have been damaged by scar tissue formation may leave a patient with reduced movement and pain. Your physiotherapist will be able to relieve the aches and pains caused by this, while rebuilding your overall strength.

What Our Patients Think

I have been treated by Claire today for the removal of an ingrown toenail. The level of care and professionalism was excellent. The procedure was very well explained and consent for the procedure was gained both verbally and in writing. The levels of hygiene were immaculate, both in the clinician and in the clinic. Keep up these levels of exceptional care. This is the best foot clinic I have ever used.

What an AMAZING place! Tom is brilliant at what he does and puts you so at ease! Knew this place was here but never been. Did not realise how many other practices they carry out! Smells lovely inside, has a really nice feel to the place and wouldn’t hesitate to go back now I have experienced today. Fab! Check it out 🙂

FAQs

You do not have to have a referral from your doctor to visit our team, but we will always keep them informed of your progress if necessary.

To maintain your flexibility, strength and mobility once your initial symptoms have been reduced, deep tissue or sports massage can be highly beneficial. To see the range of massage treatments that we offer, please click here.

The number of visits you will need will be dependent on your condition, however your physiotherapist or MSK therapist will be able to give you an idea of this when you attend your consultation.

Depending on your condition, the area may be painful or sensitive to the touch. Our therapist will be aware of this and be as gentle as possible, but you may feel some discomfort during the session as they work to relieve the pain.

Similar to traditional physiotherapy, MSK uses a more ‘hand-on’ approach to help people suffering from pain, injury or illness involving the musculoskeletal system. MSK Rehabilitators and Osteopaths help people of all ages to maintain their health and fitness, recover from and prevent injury and reduce pain using exercise, movement and manual based therapeutic interventions.
We may need you to undress to your underwear to conduct a full assessment and understand how your body moves and any areas of pain. For this reason, we recommend wearing something loose fitting. You can also wear shorts if you feel more comfortable doing so. Your comfort and modesty is of the highest importance to us, and we are happy for you to bring someone with you to your appointment, or ask that the therapist leaves the room to give you privacy when you undress and redress.
We may ask you about your medical or surgical history, so please bring any relevant notes or scan documents along with you.
If you would like to speak to us more about physiotherapy or to book an appointment, please call the clinic on 01606 45077. Alternatively, pop in and see us at our clinic in Northwich, Cheshire.
