In The Shoes Of A Local Podiatrist For The Day

Being a podiatrist is a varied, busy and satisfying role. Offering foot health care to the community and keeping you moving is a vital job! But what does a local podiatrist do on a day-to-day basis? Step inside our shoes for the day…

First things first…

Before setting off for work, we make sure we are wearing well-fitting and comfortable shoes. Working as a podiatrist means being on your feet for long periods of the day, and it’s important to practice what we preach! Many foot problems are caused by ill-fitting shoes.

Stepping into the office

Our local podiatry clinic is situated in the pretty town centre of Northwich. The first thing we do (after putting the kettle on!) is look over the notes for our patients for the day. We treat a wide range of patients here, seeing both returning and new clients throughout the day.

A local podiatrist’s patients

We are so fortunate to have many returning patients, and we are always happy to see them. Patients we’ve seen time and time again even arrive early to have a chat and a cup of coffee with our reception team!

Our patients are very diverse. Their age can range from young children to the elderly. They’ll be suffering from concerns such as calluses, corns, heel pain, verrucas, blisters…the list is endless! We also love to see those patients who have come for a general check up – people who don’t have any particular concerns but want to ensure that their feet are in tip top condition. We encourage you to see your local podiatrist as you would your dentist; regular check ups help to keep chronic conditions at bay.

We also treat people with sports injuries. Treating their injury and getting them back to the track (or road, or field!) is such a satisfying part of the job. These people are always very grateful; they’ve often been unwilling (or unable) to get a GP appointment, and it’s so much better to visit a podiatrist rather than hoping the problem will go away on its own.

At the end of the day…

We pride ourselves on our patient care and like to end the day reflecting on the difference we’ve made to our patients’ lives. There is nothing better than being able to improve the health and wellbeing of our clients, and seeing people leave the clinic with their limp gone and a smile on their faces is so rewarding!

If you need a foot specialist…
